Mis-sold Car Finance Update October 2025

The UK Supreme Court has now concluded its investigation into the mis-sold car finance scandal. Whilst two of the three cases were rejected, one stand-out case based upon the size of commissions paid to the dealer was upheld.

As you will be aware, in some cases due to time lapsed, some financial agreements were hard to obtain so the UK Financial Regulator has put all claims on hold and has launched a consultation period looking into options to ensure rebate payments (total estimated at £10BN) will be fairly paid to each consumer who is eligible to receive compensation.

As an industry, we are all waiting for the UK Regulator's proposals and there is nothing more any claims company or solicitor can do to progress any car finance claims until they do this.

YOU NEED TAKE NO FURTHER ACTION

Please be assured your claim has already been lodged with your finance company and is being constantly monitored by our Claims Team. We will update you further as soon as the UK Financial Regulator gives the industry direction on the way forward.
